Arriving in Doha and preparations for tomorrow…

Education Manager Marilyn, checking in to say the moon is lying on its back and shining beautifully over Doha. The three Close Encounters musicians have enjoyed a lovely welcome from Catherine and Julie, complete with upheld sign at the airport. The double bass was a dead give away for identification of our group. After a drink and some food on the terrace with Amira Fouad, we have retired to our bedrooms to ponder our plan for the workshop tomorrow at the Qatar Music Academy, where we will enjoy working with 38 young musicians on Paul Sherman’s arrangement of Rondo from Abdelazer. I have just done an in house yoga session coming into the rooms via the tv – excellent feature. Neyire was last seen taking photographs of an array of magnificent plants, marble and fountains in the main lobby. We meet tomorrow to begin 🙂
