ECO Music Cruise – as good as Wigmore Hall?

Last night Benjamin Hulett (tenor), Ana-Maria Vera (piano) and John Thurgood (horn) treated us to an eclectic programme of music by Berkeley, Quilter, Schubert and a world premiere of a group of songs by Giles Swayne. Comments were heard to the effect that this and all of our Music Cruise recitals were as good as you could find at the Wigmore Hall. We thought that we had already had a perfect day, after a great sightseeing trip to Taormina and the two wonderful concerts, but the icing on the cake was a bird’s eye view of Stromboli’s dramatic volcanic eruptions as we passed by around 11pm.
